FAQ

What clients ask before hiring us

Have another question? Message us on WhatsApp

How much does an industrial electrical installation cost?

It depends on the scope: the load, the distances, the raceway system and whether switchgear or a substation is involved. That's why we don't quote sight unseen: the site walk is free and, on most projects, you'll have our quote within 24 hours.

What voltage and frequency do plants in Mexico use?

Mexico's grid runs at 60 Hz, the same as the US. Plants in the region typically distribute 480 V or 440 V three-phase, with 277 V lighting and 220/127 V for convenience power. We connect each machine at its nameplate voltage and can help you confirm the supply before your equipment ships.

Do your installations comply with NOM-001-SEDE-2012?

Yes. We install to NOM-001-SEDE-2012, Mexico's electrical installation code, which is largely based on the US National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), and we follow NFPA 70E electrical safety practices, including arc-flash PPE.

Do you install switchgear and substations?

Yes. We install substations, switchboards and panelboards, with their raceways, wiring and connections.

Do you provide single-line diagrams and power factor correction?

Yes. We produce electrical drawings and single-line diagrams, energy-savings studies and power factor correction.

Can we work with you in English?

Yes. Our project manager and site supervisors speak English, and we send quotes, schedules and progress reports in English.

Are your crews certified?

Yes. Our crews hold STPS DC-3 certifications for work at height, aerial lifts and electrical work, and they're enrolled in IMSS (Mexican Social Security). We follow each plant's permit-to-work and safety requirements.

Are you REPSE registered?

Yes. TS Contratistas, S.A. de C.V. is registered in REPSE with Mexico's Ministry of Labor (STPS), which companies in Mexico require to contract specialized services.

Can you work during plant shutdowns or on weekends?

Yes, that's when we're busiest: line shutdowns, holidays, weekends, plant vacations and third shift, so your production doesn't stop.

Do you handle emergencies?

Yes. If a line goes down or something unexpected comes up, message us on WhatsApp: we'll answer and tell you how soon we can be at your plant.

Do you work with foreign OEMs and integrators?

Yes. We're the local contractor for machine builders and integrators installing lines in plants across the region: we bring in power and connect their machines, and we can also handle the rigging to set them.

Where do you work?

In Saltillo, Ramos Arizpe, the Monterrey metro area and San Luis Potosí. If your plant is elsewhere in Mexico, reach out and we'll talk it through.

Can you quote in US dollars?

Yes, in USD or MXN. We invoice through TS Contratistas, S.A. de C.V. with a CFDI e-invoice and work with purchase orders. If your plant requires supplier onboarding, we'll send the paperwork.
